We are Galvinizing Wakefield's Future with a New Galvin Middle School
The Galvin Middle School was originally built in 1952 and has served the town well. Approaching 60 years old, the facility is undersized and antiquated. In recognition of this, the School District in collaboration with the Town and State put forth a plan to build a new middle school. In the Spring of 2012, Wakefield Voter's overwhelmingly supported the building project by an almost unanimous vote at Town Meeting and a 4 to 1 margin at the ballot. A new Galvin Middle School will reinvigorate the Town of Wakefield with a modern educational facility to better prepare future generations and to provide the community with significantly improved recreational and cultural arts space.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2013 and will be completed by the Fall of 2015. Additional project information can be found throughout the website.
